Rear Control Arm Upgrade

Rear Control Arm Upgrade

A customer’s 1965 Impala Convertible sporting a Corvette rear suspension had an issue with a negative camber on the rear end.

The stock lower control arm has very limited adjustability. With wheel sizes getting larger, and custom applications, more adjustability is necessary.

Master Fabricator Gregg Petersen took the reigns and fabbed up a simple solution using heim joints

Gregg drilled out a nut to fit over the rod and welded it in the center of the new bar for easy adjustment with a wrench.

A tab welded to the stock mount, he mounts the lower control arm. The stock mount had slotted holes which allows for mis-alignment and camber is affected. This application is much more secure.
